Jockey Corey Brown has been making big headlines over the 2008 Spring Carnival from riding some big winners to getting fined by stewards, twice in the same day and finishing a nose second in the Melbourne Cup. It was just another day at work at Randwick on Saturday 27th September, 2008.
Brown rode four winning horses that day, first was 'Sara’s Choice’ in the $100,000 Reginald Allen Quality, next was ’Mentality’ in the $400,000 Tabcorp George Main Stakes, followed by ’Judged’ in the $125,000 Bill Ritchie Handicap and finally 'Dealers’ in the $70,000 Ud Trucks Handicap.
Like all winners Brown got a little excited, and unfortunately the stewards were not impressed by Browns winning gestures and he received two fines and a safe riding lecture. With a long string of top class winners under his belt, such as Apache Cat, Clangalang, Devin Moon and so many more Corey Brown really is hot property.

Six Quick Questions
If you weren’t a jockey what would you be doing?
“I don’t know. My father owned a tyre shop, so I’d probably be changing tyres.”
What is your daily routine?
“On a race day I’ll bounce out of bed, I’ll usually have 1.5kg to 2kg to lose so I’ll use the sauna for a few hours. Then with the family I’ll take the kids to school and come home and sauna some more. Then its off to the races."
What do you do in your spare time?
“I really enjoy riding motor cross bikes. Yeah when I get any spare time I like to ride motorbikes or spend time in the yard. Mowing the lawn and landscaping.”
When did you first ride a horse?
“I started to ride when I was either 7 or 8.”
Do you have a favourite horse to ride?
“Apache Cat would have to be my favourite.”
How do you celebrate a big win?
I really enjoy just coming home and spending time with the family. Usually we have a big dinner and just relax.
