Over the past couple of months we have had new punters ask us what the difference is between Classic Odds compared to Decimal Odds. We also show the percentage represented by each price. To work out the percentages of backing more than one horse in a race simply add up the percentages for each price. For example. You want to make sure you can double your money. Add up the percentages for each price until they reach 50%.
6/4 or $2.50 = 40%. 10/1 or $11 = 9% so 49% for these two horses. No more can be added if you wish to bet these in a dutch bet to double your money. To get a return of $100 simply bet $40 on the $2.50 horse and $9 on the $11 horse.
We have several books in our online store which include how to dutch bet. Included are Market Forces, Make Racing Pay and Racing Pays More. For information on where to get fixed prices and best odds simply click here.
